A 52-hour labor sounds painful. I am sorry you had to go through that awful experience. You are right that we need to advocate for ourselves but there is a certain level of trust that we place on the medical profession to do the right thing. I didn't even go for pregnancy classes. I just read the infamous book, What to Expect.....
