Absolutely not! If we started living by societal standards of what it means to be a successful woman - educated, good wife, good mother, good daughter (in-law)....the list is endless, we set ourselves up for failure. My first article on Medium titled, "Tick, tick, Boom" was about living my whole life racing with that clock and how I drove myself to utter unhappiness trying to do it all. Now I say, everybody doesn't have to get married, not every one has to have children, and not even has to have a biological child. Do what feels right to you today and that brings you pure joy. The rest will fall in place.
