Colleen, we could have co-written this from different stances. I worked FULL-time throughout my marriage, except for taking a 1-year unpaid leave after our second child was born.

Due to the disparity in our incomes, I had to hear all of those "stay-at-home mom jokes" things that you had to hear. I felt devalued and worthless every time I heard words like: "I am the breadwinner of the family." "How do you think you get to have a house with a pool?" Ugh! I don't miss any of that and my heart aches when I recount those times.
