Great article, Katie! I grew up playing with the trucks, trains, and toy guns handed me down from my brothers. I didn't own a soft toy until I bought a teddy bear for myself for my 16th birthday. Empathy can be acquired and it's all the social conditioning that has ruined it for all of us.
