Growing up in India, I too have a stronger immunity to things. There is this confidence that we can survive most challenges….a sense of toughness that comes from earlier life experiences. I had to collect water in buckets and any possible container when we had a water shortage and the city would come around in a van twice a week. No electricity, getting eaten with mosquitos, swatting flies, killing cockroaches….my kids have no idea how good they have it!
