Growing up in hot and humid climate in South India, I used to oil my hair every day to remove the frizz, but wash my hair only once a week. This was because we lived for many years with a water shortage in our town and we couldn't afford to wash our hair more often despite all the sports that I played.

Now I wash my hair twice a week, but like you said assess if I've had too much of exercising and a build up of oils.

Your daughter is beautiful and I hope she grows to love her curls. I know I paid big money at 16 to have those curls.
