I can closely relate to so many themes you raise here including the cultural expectations to be obedient and how that affects the child and setting boundaries with family members to find the true self. I am sorry you don't have a better relationship with your sister. I often wonder why parents even aspire to have multiple kids, when we don't have any control on their trajectories nor can be guarantee that they will be there for each other.
