I can relate to a lot of it as I went to an all-girls Catholic school in the 80-90s. I had my share of meeting up with boys because I played tennis outside of school. However, I know so many of my friends who had that awkwardness in speaking to boys or growing up with them. So there is something to be said about growing up alongside both genders and learning how to treat each one respectfully from a young age.
As far as the toxic energy is concerned, my daughter went to a co-ed school and still had the same level of bitchiness amongst her friends' circle. So may be there is something ancestral or genetic about that.
