I can relate to this as names of many Hindu Indians have meaning. They are Sanskrit words, often mispronounced outside of India. I am proud of my name and its meaning. When it came to choosing names for my children, I chose names with meaning but I also had to make sure it was easier to pronounce and not butcher. The butchering happens anyway and I've come to realize that it should be accompanied with education instead of running away from the name.
