I can so relate to this as I too made a pact with myself when I turned 40 to trim the dead wood. I’m very loyal and invest in my friendships because in the absence of a supportive family, friends’ support has been my reason for survival. I couldn’t agree with you more that sometimes the relationships run their course and we have learned and shared lessons that we could. Sometimes there is just nothing more to exchange.
