I equate the TCP and ACP to the same differences between an arranged marriage and a love marriage. Both routes end up at the same point but at different time intervals. :)

Our university used to have Teach for America, but now we have the NY Teaching Fellows program is the ACP for placing teachers in District 75 - the largest segregated district for students with moderate to severe disabilities in the country. The candidates are teachers of record from Day 1, onboarding in the summer and expected to manage a self-contained classroom two months later. I agree that teacher residency programs show promise, but usually the cost becomes a deal breaker for many school districts trying to partner with private universities like the one I work for. o
