I had a similar experience last year and both my kids caught the stomach bug eating at Subway which was the only restaurant open in the airport at that late hour. I didn't eat and escaped getting sick. I often wonder why we had such a stroke of bad luck, and I console myself by saying that perhaps it was to avoid a more major event. I am grateful we were alive and reached our destination. The kids showed some resilience and were great sports over the 3-day ordeal.
