I love how you are able to write about your childhood with a single mother and your journey with your inner growth. As an Indian, I can say that your mother didn't know any better than to show her frustrations with a good spanking and her words. I love how you have come to understand her and have gotten close to her. As a single mother, I am hopeful that my children will also some day understand the choices I made in life keeping them front and center.
