I noticed this the last few days. There has been a new wave of writers and bots who've joined Medium and have thrown off any possible algorithm there was. I already gifted a membership this year to a friend, so my good will gesture for Medium is done for the year! Ha!:)

I hear you about the fictional stories. In the midst of all the free advice on how to live life, I am most connected to personal stories and memoirs. But I will have to expand to other genres as well.
