I think I was more attached to the rings as pieces of jewelry than I was to the marriage towards its later stages. In the Indian community, the rings do not hold any significance. It’s a necklace we wear. I wore that diligently for many years but replaced it with someone smaller. All these items only carry as much value as we are willing to put in them. Exchange your rings for better looking jewelry and wear it. Too bad the ring finger holds so much significance in the US. Stay clear of that…you have nine more options! :)
