I think we all go through phases in our lives when people in our social circle have weddings, baby showers, etc. to go to. I am in my late-40s and I attended a wedding after 10 years. In the 10 years, I was only attending funerals. But yes, the awareness is heightened and it is in your face with social media.

I've been through the feeling that the clock is ticking and it didn't make me happy after meeting all those unspoken timelines in life. We have to live life on our terms or we will have trouble getting off that hamster wheel.
