IMO, all that matters is that you and your husband understand what it is that you are giving each other and both of you are okay with what you are seeking from outside the marriage to fill the void. The moral compass is within you. I wouldn't worry about societal norms and judgments.

Often as women we reach out for that emotional support to our girlfriends. Now with the lines blurring between sexual identities, the gender of the person on the other end of the digital communication shouldn't matter. Would you feel better if the person was a gay man? And it is not considered cheating if your husband knows that you have a texting friend.
