In Hinduism, we believe that a dog enters our life because we have some unpaid debt/ unfinished business with them from our previous lives.

I am so sorry for your loss, but I do believe dogs enhance and enrich our lives with their unconditional love. I say I'd live with dogs any day over humans.

My Max is 9 years old and I am tuned into him and record his every move. We brought him home for the kids, but he's my true companion who has been with me through thick and thin. With a recent health diagnosis my rational thoughts went to what would happen to him if I something happened to me, a thought that came before I wondered about my kids. I hope to be with him for as many years as possible. I need him as much as he needs me.
