It was never as strong but it definitely decreased after the kids were born and then completely died when he was not willing to go to counseling to work on our marriage troubles. He was happy with status quo, but resented that I didn't have a sex drive. I've been with my new partner for 18 months now and I was attracted to him from the beginning. We don't live together, so it's almost like an experiment to see if things will change but I can say that I've had more fun in these last 18 months than I have in 25 plus years prior. That's why I think the person and the equation matter.
