It's brutal out there and finding a genuine connection with online apps is an exception rather than the norm. Having said that, in middle age, it's harder to find more organic connections at work, at the gym, or the tennis club. Definitely not at a bar on a weekday night because you'd have to pay me to go out past my bedtime these days.
