It's great that you gave yourself the time to decide if you wanted a second date with this guy, and it didn't take too long for him to reveal himself. It's nice that you gave him some brownie points for apologizing the next day, but after having been with someone who had a short fuse I can tell you that this drama would been on repeat cycle - anger (turning to rage), the verbal abuse and belittling, and then apologizing.
