Joe - you bring up a good point about the adult vs the child mindset. I think if the rescheduling doesn't cause much of an inconvenience, then the adult me also would probably say "yes." I don't think it was people pleasing as much as putting myself in her shoes. We all traveled far to be at that tournament, and waiting a couple hours longer to play a match didn't seem too unreasonable. Of course, this was not professional tennis where the stakes are higher and it would throw off TV broadcast schedules or anything like that.

Oh well - there is no right or wrong answer, but I think this would be a great question for an interview to gauge a candidate's thinking and response. :)
