Leonard - thank you for your service as a teacher and for sharing your thoughts. I think what you've stated her about overworking and getting on that hamster wheel until burnout is a reflection of our society and the work culture we have created in the US. I see a stark difference in the way people approach work in Europe and Australia in comparison to the US work culture. The pandemic has hopefully given many people reason to pause and reflect, and reprioritize how to approach work and life balance. I for now have stopped responding to work emails over the weekend.

Your point about teacher shortage is well received. However, there needs to be some drastic changes made to the pay scales for teacher before we can attract more folks to the teaching profession.
