I write under a pen name but my close friends know I am behind my name. When I started dating my boyfriend, I'd mentioned I wrote online but didn't share my work. If I wrote something fun, I'd read it out to him or talk about it. After two years, I finally shared my page in the spirit of being transparent. His first question was whether I wrote anything negative about him and I said it was mostly good stuff. But I explained that my writing is my truth. It's my take and my POV on a topic. Whether others get offended or get hurt should not be my concern.
