My daughter had a similar experience with her driving test. She thought she had failed based on the guy’s affect. She needed to log on later that evening to see the result. She already decided she had failed and was beating herself up for it. I asked her to look at things with a different perspective and failing a driving test is quite common. At 8pm, when she checked she passed. Now she was in disbelief and was saying she didn’t deserve to pass. Ugh! I told her she isn’t giving herself room to win here. They set such high expectations for themselves, build up all this anxiety, and almost plan for the disappointment.
