Oh Lauren, I don't know if being born in 1977 would qualify me as a xennial too, but I can totally relate to your post. There is so much truth to the way we present ourselves on social media. Our world travels and family pictures provided a narrative and facade of a happy family. Although many of my close friends understood what was happening behind the scenes, I did have several people say that they thought we were were the ideal couple. I wish we were able to post the #marriagesucks moments to give people a real life glimpse into all marriages. I stopped posting, I stopped sending holiday greetings. I couldn't live the lie anymore. Now it's two years since my separation and divorce and I am in a happier place.
