OMG Martha! So many similarities here. I too was pregnant with my daughter during my candidacy exams with BFSkinner in my head. She was actually an easy baby and she did nap while I finished up with my dissertation.

I am a reasonably tidy person, but she is the slob you describe. Her room is a perpetual mess and clothes are on her closet floor!! I’ve never seen something like this before and wonder how cluttered her brain must be to live like that.

She is off to college in a couple of weeks and I wonder if her mess is to counter challenge the order I seek. I thought it would get better but didn’t seem so in case of your daughter who is older and married.
