Shani - you couldn't have done a better job of sharing your thoughts on this custody arrangement. I don't know about the 80s, because that's the exact same thing that is happening now in my household. My wasband couldn't commit to more than that.....and as the children grow older, the every other weekend that is supposed to be Friday PM - Sunday PM becomes Saturday AM to Sunday drop off after lunch. I've been away one week this summer, but I don't think the second week is happening either. I don't know what it means to even have a 50/50 split with someone who was never there even when living in the house. The joke of it all is as teenagers my children are enamored by their absent-father and think he does a better job and is fairer when they get in an argument than me. So in my case, I see it as 80% me and 20% with their father and I have earned the title of being the one who has ruined their lives and their vacation lifestyles. NONE of this is fair, but it is my reality.
