So much similarity in the way my birthdays were treated. I didn’t have any real celebrations until I was tired of asking for some celebration and instead decided to organize a birthday party for myself at 13. My mother was never a happy camper on those days and it was like she did me a favor by allowing me to invite some friends.

I not only celebrate my own birthdays but I make them special for children and friends. “ No one should spend a birthday without a cake, even a cupcake or cookie will do” is my mantra.
