Thank you for this brilliant piece which is education to many who are unaware of the Hawaiian culture. I am sorry that the wedding left a bad taste. I hope Wendy feels accepted and genuinely wanted and not just a novel addition to the family. Perhaps, she can be the change within her new familiy, starting with her husband who can stand up for her as they journey through life together.
