Thanks for writing about such a sensitive and stigmatized topic. In my opinion, I think many of the reasons for why women were asked to stay out of the kitchen and rest for the four days has taken on a meaning of impurity over the years due to misinterpretation or just convenience. Thankfully, today we can choose to embrace the traditions that serve us well and we are able to rationalize they existence.
