The Cliche — In Pursuit of Happiness
An exercise that will be well worth your time
A cousin of mine gave me a book in 2005 written by The Dalai Lama and Cutler titled, The Art of Happiness.
The book moved four countries with me and finally got my attention after 15 years during the pandemic. It was a much-needed distraction when I was in the midst of reassessing my life and my future.
The book was a good read and I loved that it was a quick one too. This is not a review of the book but an affirmation of what I have grown to believe over the years.
The gist: The purpose of life is to seek happiness and we can do that by actively training our minds.
It affirmed what I always tell my children: Be kind, be thoughtful, and be helpful. After reading the book, I would add: be grateful and always stay positive.
