There is something to be said about being an immigrant and somewhat detached from the expectations of the holiday season. When I was married with little kids I adopted the traditions and enjoyed the decorating, the tree, stuffing the stockings, the cookies and milk for Santa and the gifts on Christmas morning. As the kids started getting older and the marriage dissolved, I lost the motivation to continue. I buy gifts for my children and I've made it clear I want nothing but some love and peace if they can give me that.

Wishing you peace and joy as well this holiday season!
