This resonates with me as I have always been the one to go against the grain with the risk of being alienated by my own family. I continue to do that even today. I realize I am more at peace with being who I am rather than conforming to the person they want me to be. If this leaves me alone with the friends I have who understand me, I will live with that acceptance.
