You stole the words from me and did a better job writing it. Yes, it is painful and the body (in your case it’s your heart) does carry the trauma of the pain. You are also correct in that our children carry pieces of us and we can’t help but keep getting reminded of the fact that we came together to create this life, meant to be an expression of our love.
